CONTACTIt has been 30 years since the Philippine Merit Award for Scholastic Potential was first given to high school seniors who garnered the highest scores in the College Scholastic Aptitude Test (CSAT). CSAT is an instrument that assesses student's prerequisite skills for college degree courses. It is composed of subtests in English, Mathematics, Science, and Inductive Reasoning. This school year, 24 students were awarded the gold and silver medals for being the top scorers among the 22,042 CSAT examinees from 147 private schools.
Gold Medals of Merit are given to those who obtained a General Scholastic Aptitude (GSA) score of 99 or 99+ percentile rank, with no subtest score lower than the 99th percentile. The awardees are:

Silver Medals of Merit are given to those who obtained a GSA of 99 percentile rank, with no subtest score lower than the 98th percentile. The awardees are:
