CEM reached another milestone as it recently administered the online version of the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) for the first time since its institution in 1985.
NMAT is a government-mandated requirement for admission to Philippine medical schools, usually held during the last quarter of the year in various test sites in the Philippines and simultaneously in the USA. It is then followed by back-up testing in the first quarter of the next year to accommodate more applicants.
Due to the pandemic, however, the scheduled back up testing last March 1, 2020 was rescheduled in accordance with the community quarantine guidelines and restrictions. CEM, after careful consideration of all information available and in consultation with relevant bodies has decided to develop and administer the NMAT using a secured online platform.
On August 10-19, 2020, the first-ever CEM online test was launched through the NMAT Online. Over 6000 registered applicants from the March testing took the test and their test results were made available on August 28, 2020 through the NMAT website. The next NMAT Online is scheduled for October 16-21, 2020.
